Fair value please

Every business will need a valuation at one stage or another. Whether you are a business owner who wants to sell your interest in a business, a buyer who wants to purchase an interest in a business or a business owner who needs a valuation for Capital Gains Tax or Security Transfer Tax purposes we can be of assistance to you.

Buyers and sellers often have different views on the value of a business. Unfortunately emotion can and does play a big part in unrealistic values being placed on a business

Value can be influenced by many factors for example the certainty of potential future income streams, contracts in place, the business cycle of a product, the makeup of customers etc. Our aim is to take into account as many of the factors that can influence the value of a business and to place an objective value on the business or interest.

 

 

Our preferred definition of a  valuation:

A fair valuation is the most probable amount for which an asset should be sold between a willing buyer and a willing seller in an arms length transaction after proper marketing, wherein the parties had each acted knowledgably, prudently and without compulsion.
